Inspector Morse: Masonic Mysteries is a British crime drama from 1987 featuring John Thaw as Chief Inspector Morse, alongside Kevin Whately as Detective Sergeant Lewis and James Grout in supporting roles. Directed by Herbert Wise, John Madden, and Peter Hammond with scripts by Daniel Boyle, John Brown, and Malcolm Bradbury, the series follows the intellectually sharp Morse and his partner as they investigate complex murder cases in Oxford. Morse, a devotee of classical music and real ale, brings his keen mind to solving crimes that often involve the city’s academic and social circles.
