The barcode on the case (the UPC) is what we compare. When we recognize a barcode, we check it against our database of over 380,000 CD editions so we never send you the same album twice, even as a different pressing or reissue. No method like this is perfect, so on rare occasions a duplicate may still slip through, which is why every box ships with an extra or two, just in case. Our engine will never send you a UPC you have already given us.

Do I get to keep the CDs?

Yes. Every album we send is yours to keep: the disc, the case, the booklet. No returns, no due dates, just a shelf that grows every month.

Is this like the old CD clubs?

It is the part people loved, without the part they did not. You pick your genres and a box of albums turns up every month. There is no card to mail back, no "selection of the month" that ships unless you say no, no full-price catalog, and no commitment: cancel whenever you like.

Do I pick the albums?

You pick the genres (at least two) and, if you like, the decades and styles you lean toward. We pick the albums. The titles are the surprise, and there are no repeats inside a box.

What if I get something I already have?

We log every album we send you, so you will never get the same one from us twice. Already own it from somewhere else? Add the collection sync option when you build the box and tell us what is on your shelf: paste a list of barcodes, upload a CSV, or scan your cases with your phone. The barcode on the case is what we compare, and our engine will never send you a UPC you have given us. If a duplicate ever slips through, pass it on to a friend; everyone has a friend who needs more music.

Will used CDs play okay?

Every disc is cleaned and inspected before it goes in the box. We look for scratches and do not send anything we doubt will play. We cannot play-test every track of every album, so every box ships with an extra or two, just in case.

How much is shipping?

Shipping is free within the continental US and already included in the price of your box. No handling fee, no hidden fees.

How long will my box take to get here?

We typically ship within three business days. From there, USPS Media Mail takes 2 to 10 business days depending on how the post office is feeling that month.

Can I give the box as a gift?

Yes. Tick "this is a gift" when you build the box; the recipient gets their own account and can set their own genres.
