Inspector Morse: Last Seen Wearing is a 1987 British crime mystery episode from the acclaimed series featuring Chief Inspector Morse and Detective Sergeant Lewis. John Thaw stars as the cultured, sharp-witted Morse, while Kevin Whately plays his younger partner Lewis, a family man who prefers heading home to joining Morse for drinks. When a schoolgirl goes missing, Morse dismisses the case as hopeless, but his relentless investigative approach uncovers a conspiracy and murder at the girl’s exclusive school. The episode showcases the detective duo’s contrasting personalities as they solve the crime through careful investigation and brainpower rather than action heroics.

This two-disc DVD release runs 100 minutes and carries a TV-14 rating from PBS. The cast includes Amanda Hillwood, Clare Holman, James Grout, and David Baukham, with direction by Herbert Wise, John Madden, and Peter Hammond. You can own this early episode of the long-running series at a used price that won’t strain your budget.
