Walkout is a 2006 HBO television film directed by Edward James Olmos that tells the true story of teacher Sal Castro and his efforts to inspire East Los Angeles high school students during the civil rights era. Set in 1968 amid national turmoil, the film follows Castro as he works to build pride and awareness among his students about their heritage and their place in society. When student Laura Crisostomo and her peers recognize the systemic inequities within their school system, they organize a peaceful demonstration to demand change, challenging both their families and their community in the process.

This single-disc DVD release runs 110 minutes and carries a TV-14 rating. The cast includes Michael Pena as Castro, Alexa Vega as Laura, Efran Ramirez, and Yancey Arias, with a screenplay by Ernie Contreras, Marcus DeLeon, and Timothy J. Sexton.
