Sanford and Son is a 1970s sitcom created by Norman Lear that follows Fred Sanford, a cantankerous junk dealer, and his son Lamont as they navigate life together in Los Angeles. Starring Redd Foxx and Demond Wilson, the show became a groundbreaking series for African American-led comedy on network television, drawing humor from their household dynamics and interactions with their South Central neighborhood community. This sixth and final season welcomes guest appearances from notable figures including B.B. King, Chuck Barris, Ross Martin, Pat Paulsen, and Sheldon Leonard.

Season 6 arrives on three DVDs from NBC with a total runtime of 12 hours and a TV-PG rating, containing all 24 episodes from this concluding season of the legendary comedy series. Directed by Alan Rafkin, Bill Foster, and Russ Petranto, with writing from Norman Lear, Alan Simpson, and Ray Galton, this collection captures the show’s final run.
