What’s Happening is a 1970s sitcom that premiered on ABC in 1976, following three teenage friends navigating life in their Los Angeles neighborhood. Starring Ernest Thomas as Raj, Haywood Nelson as Dwayne, and Fred Berry as Rerun, the series captures the humor and social dynamics of youth culture during the disco era. Loosely inspired by the 1975 film Cooley High, the show centers on the boys’ adventures as they hang out at the local soda shop, pursue romantic interests, and get into minor mishaps, all while dealing with limited budgets. Mabel King plays Raj’s hardworking single mother, and Danielle Spencer rounds out the cast as his younger sister.

This is a 3-disc DVD set containing the complete first season with a runtime of 8 hours and 45 minutes, rated TV-PG. The series was created by Eric Monte and Alan Eisenstock, with direction by Dick Harwood, Hal Alexander, and Lee Bernhardi.
