M*A*S*H is a 1972 comedy-drama series set during the Korean War at the 4077th Mobile Army Surgical Hospital. Starring Alan Alda, Gary Burghoff, Jamie Farr, Larry Linville, Loretta Swit, and Wayne Rogers, the show follows military doctors and nurses stationed just miles from the front lines. Helicopters constantly deliver wounded soldiers, bringing the brutal realities of combat to the operating room, yet the medical staff finds solace in humor, pranks, and the bonds they form with one another. Their camaraderie and wit become essential tools for maintaining sanity amid the chaos and absurdity of wartime medicine.

This is the first season on three DVDs with a total runtime of ten hours and carries a TV-PG rating. Directed by Don Weis, Gene Reynolds, and Hy Averback, with writing by Burt Styler, Larry Gelbart, and Laurence Marks, this CBS release launched one of television’s most beloved series. Own this foundational season of a show that redefined the military comedy-drama genre as a used DVD set from us.
