Eric Clapton’s 2010 album Clapton is a blues and rock collection co-produced with guitarist Doyle Bramhall II. Drawing inspiration from traditional brass band music, obscure country blues, and original compositions, the record brings together an impressive lineup of collaborators including JJ Cale, drummer Jim Keltner, bassist Willie Weeks, keyboardist Walt Richmond, Steve Winwood, Wynton Marsalis, Sheryl Crow, Allen Toussaint, and Derek Trucks. The result is an eclectic and exploratory work that showcases Clapton’s willingness to venture into unexpected musical territory, blending relaxed performances with surprising arrangements across songs like Travelin’ Alone, Rocking Chair, and River Runs Deep.
