Back Home is Eric Clapton’s 2005 blues-rock album, his first collection of mostly original material since 2001’s Reptile. The record blends upbeat pop-rock with blues, reggae, and R&B influences, drawing on solo compositions, covers, and collaborations with writing partner Simon Climie. Clapton recorded the album around the same time as his Robert Johnson tribute Me and Mr. Johnson, and the sessions feature an impressive lineup of guest musicians including John Mayer on guitar, Steve Winwood on synthesizer, and Billy Preston on keyboards, whose Hammond B3 work stands out particularly on the Vince Gill cowritten track “One Day”. The album spans a range of moods and styles, from the upbeat opener “So Tired” to deeper blues-rock cuts like “Lost and Found” and covers of material by the Spinners and George Harrison.
This CD was released on Reprise Records and contains ten tracks with a total runtime of approximately 50 minutes. A used copy from us means you get the physical media without the new retail price tag.
