Ridley Scott’s 1982 sci-fi noir thriller follows retired blade runner Rick Deckard, played by Harrison Ford, as he is pulled back into service to hunt down a group of escaped replicants in a dystopian Los Angeles. These artificial beings, portrayed by Rutger Hauer and Sean Young among others, are desperate to extend their artificially limited lifespans. Set in a perpetually dark and rain-soaked future metropolis, the film blends classic detective noir with speculative science fiction, creating an atmospheric exploration of what it means to be human.

This is the Director’s Cut released on single-layer DVD by The Ladd Company, running 117 minutes and rated R. Ridley Scott’s revised vision removes the theatrical release’s voice-over narration and altered ending, allowing the film’s shadowy visual style and complex narrative to stand on their own.
