Filmed in 1969 at the Moscow International Competition of Ballet Artists, this documentary captures young Mikhail Baryshnikov and Ludmila Semenyaka competing alongside dancers from around the world. Baryshnikov performs excerpts from La Bayadere and an original ballet by Leonid Jakobson called Vestris, while Semenyaka dances a scene from Giselle. The film also includes rare footage of legendary dancer Anna Pavlova, judging panels featuring choreography icons like Galina Ulanova and Maya Plisetskaya, and performances set to classical pieces including Swan Lake and Le Corsaire.

A single-disc DVD from Corinth Films, this 1969 documentary offers a window into an elite international ballet competition. Own this historic record of Baryshnikov’s early career on physical media.
