Welcome to Sweden is a 2014 Swedish-American comedy series created by and starring Greg Poehler as Bruce, an accountant who leaves New York City behind after falling in love with Emma, a Swedish woman played by Josephine Bornebusch. When Bruce relocates to Sweden to build a life with Emma, he discovers that adapting to a new country proves far more challenging than he anticipated. Between unfamiliar customs, unexpected cuisine, Emma’s eccentric family, and the demands of his celebrity clients back home, Bruce must navigate a comedic culture clash while trying to keep his relationship intact. Directed by Carl Åstrand and co-created by Poehler and Bornebusch, the series offers a fish-out-of-water romantic comedy that explores what happens when love crosses an ocean.
