Antonio Vivaldi composed 39 bassoon concertos that form a cornerstone of the instrument’s classical repertory. This album presents 17 of those works across various keys, performed by the distinguished ensemble I Musici with bassoonist Klaus Thunemann as soloist. The concertos showcase Vivaldi’s mastery of instrumental writing for the bassoon, a body of work second only to his prolific output of violin concertos.

This CD contains eight concertos spanning from RV 471 to RV 504, including works in A minor, C major, G major, D minor, B flat, and G minor. A used copy gives you access to this important Baroque repertory at a fraction of the original retail cost.
