Upstairs Downstairs is a British drama series that premiered in 1971, following the interconnected lives of the wealthy Bellamy family and their household staff at 165 Eaton Place in London between 1903 and 1930. Created by Jean Marsh and John Hawkesworth, the show explores how the aristocratic Bellamys and their servants navigate social upheaval, political change, personal scandals, and the devastation of World War I. The ensemble cast includes Angela Baddeley, David Langton, Gordon Jackson, Jean Marsh, and Christopher Beeny, among others, bringing depth to characters both upstairs and downstairs as their lives intersect within the fashionable Belgravia townhouse.
This 40th Anniversary Edition from PBS comes on four DVDs with a total runtime of approximately 10 hours and 51 minutes, presented in color and black and white.
