Upstairs, Downstairs is a 2010 BBC drama series that returned to television with a new cast alongside original co-creator Jean Marsh. Set in 1936 Belgravia, the show follows Sir Hallam Holland, a foreign-service diplomat played by Ed Stoppard, and his wife Lady Agnes, portrayed by Keeley Hawes, along with the servants who keep their household running. Season two takes place in 1938 as World War II casts its shadow over 165 Eaton Place, bringing new arrivals including ambitious nursery maid Beryl, Hallam’s aunt Blanche, and American entrepreneur Caspar Landry. The season explores how the approaching war and personal tensions reshape the lives of both upstairs and downstairs residents, featuring an ensemble cast that includes Adrian Scarborough, Anne Reid, and Art Malik.
