Anthony Geffen directed this 2010 documentary that weaves together two remarkable stories from Mount Everest. The film chronicles British explorer George Mallory’s legendary 1924 expedition to summit the world’s highest peak, when he vanished into mystery just 800 feet from the top. Decades later, in 1999, renowned American mountaineer Conrad Anker discovered Mallory’s remains in Everest’s death zone, 75 years after the explorer disappeared. Narrated by Liam Neeson with voice performances by Alan Rickman, Hugh Dancy, and Natasha Richardson, the film explores Mallory’s pursuit of the last great adventure available to mankind and how Anker’s discovery became intertwined with the explorer’s unfulfilled dream.

This single-disc DVD from Altitude Films runs 94 minutes and carries a PG rating. The release includes behind-the-scenes raw interviews, international trailers, and original notes from expedition team member Noel Odell.
