Amir Bar-Lev directs this 2010 documentary about Pat Tillman, the NFL player who walked away from a lucrative football career to enlist in the military. When Tillman died in a friendly-fire incident in Afghanistan in 2004, the film reveals how military officials distorted the circumstances of his death to construct a heroic narrative for public consumption, transforming a tragedy into a propaganda campaign.
