A former government operative awakens as a prisoner in a mysterious seaside village where residents are stripped of their names and assigned only numbers. Held captive by unseen authorities, Number Six endures psychological interrogation and manipulation as he resists their attempts to break his will and extract his secrets. This 1967 British science-fiction series stars Patrick McGoohan as the defiant protagonist, alongside Alexis Kanner, Angelo Muscat, and Fenella Fielding. Directed by Don Chaffey, Pat Jackson, and McGoohan himself, the show explores themes of identity, freedom, and resistance against totalitarian control.

Set 1 contains the first three episodes on two DVDs with a total runtime of 16 hours and 50 minutes, rated TV-PG. Produced by A&E Home Video, this collection opens with “Arrival,” introducing Number Six to the Village; continues with “Free for All,” where an election offers a glimmer of hope; and concludes with “Dance of the Dead,” depicting the Village’s sinister carnival.
