Frank C. Schroeder directed this 1991 inspirational sports biography about Pete Maravich, known as “Pistol Pete,” during his formative years. Adam Guier stars as the determined eighth-grader working to earn a spot on his high school basketball team, supported by his father Press (Nick Benedict), a former professional player, and his mother Helen (Millie Perkins). Though Pete’s innovative style of play sets him apart and initially makes him a target among his peers, he perseveres through encouragement from his family to pursue his basketball dreams.

This single-disc DVD release runs 90 minutes and carries a G rating, presented in widescreen 16:9 with 5.1 Dolby Digital audio by L.A. Film Partners. Special features include Pete Maravich sharing his personal story, appearances on God’s Green Acres and Life On The Edge, a producers chat, and a behind-the-scenes look at the film’s making. Own this hand-inspected copy of a sports drama that celebrates family support and athletic determination.
