Operation Petticoat is a 1959 comedy directed by Blake Edwards and starring Cary Grant as a World War II submarine captain trying to maintain order aboard his damaged vessel. When his scheming first officer, played by Tony Curtis, smuggles a group of army nurses and Philippine refugees onto the all-male submarine, the captain must navigate both the challenges of wartime command and the chaos of unexpected feminine presence on ship. Written by Maurice Richlin, Paul King, and Stanley Shapiro, the film blends romance and humor with Edwards’s signature sight gags and physical comedy.

This single-disc DVD release from Universal Pictures is unrated and runs the full feature presentation. Grant delivers effortless comic timing throughout, while Curtis plays the resourceful hustler with charm. You can own this entertaining wartime comedy on physical media at a used price.
