Stevie Ray Vaughan and his band Double Trouble take the stage in this 1995 concert film directed by Gary Menotti and Thomas Friedmann. Compiled from performances recorded on PBS’s Austin City Limits in 1983 and 1989, the film captures the Texas blues guitarist’s remarkable growth as an artist and his mastery of the Fender Stratocaster. Vaughan’s dynamic stage presence and virtuosic playing shine throughout, showcasing his evolution from the earlier session to the later performance and demonstrating why he became a legendary figure in blues music.

This single-disc DVD release from KLRU Austin runs 63 minutes and is not rated. The program features performances of blues standards and Vaughan originals, along with the music video for “Little Wing,” which pairs Double Trouble footage with archival clips of blues greats spanning decades. Own this essential live document of one of rock and blues music’s greatest guitarists at a fraction of the original retail cost.
