Flicka is a 2006 family drama directed by Michael Mayer about a determined teenage girl navigating life on her family’s Wyoming ranch. Sixteen-year-old Katie McLaughlin, played by Alison Lohman, becomes fixated on taming a wild mustang she names Flicka, defying her father’s warnings. As Katie pursues her goal to prove herself capable of taking over the ranch one day, she forms a deep bond with the horse. When tragedy strikes the family, Katie must find the inner strength to help restore hope to those around her while pursuing her own path forward.
