Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close is a 2011 drama directed by Stephen Daldry and adapted from Jonathan Safran Foer’s acclaimed novel. The film follows Oskar Schell, an inventive eleven-year-old New Yorker who discovers a mysterious key among his deceased father’s belongings. Set a year after his father’s death at the World Trade Center, Oskar embarks on an urgent search across New York City’s five boroughs to find the lock that matches the key, hoping to maintain his connection to the father he lost. Along his journey, he encounters an eclectic array of people, each carrying their own stories of survival, while gradually uncovering hidden links to his father, his distant mother, and the world around him.
