Dancing At Lughnasa

Movie / Show Details

Dancing at Lughnasa is a 1998 Irish drama adapted from Brian Friel’s Tony Award-winning play, directed by Pat O’Connor. Set in rural Ireland during the summer of 1936, the film follows five unmarried sisters of the Mundy family as they navigate love, family responsibilities, and tradition in their small community. When the eldest brother Jack, a priest returning from years in Africa, and Gerry, the charming but unreliable father of young Michael, arrive in their lives, the sisters’ carefully balanced world shifts. Meryl Streep, Michael Gambon, Catherine McCormack, Kathy Burke, and Brid Brennan anchor this bittersweet examination of faith, desire, and the tension between pagan joy and Catholic restraint.

This is a single-disc DVD presentation with a runtime of 95 minutes and a PG rating from Sony Pictures Classics.
