Da Ali G Show - The Complete First Season

Movie / Show Details

Sacha Baron Cohen stars as three distinct satirical characters in this 2003 HBO comedy series. Ali G is a white hip-hop wannabe from the suburbs who conducts absurd interviews with real public figures including Buzz Aldrin and Ralph Nader, creating humor through the clash between his ridiculous questions and their earnest responses. The show also features Borat, a Kazakhstani reporter exploring American culture, and Bruno, a flamboyant fashion correspondent, each with their own interview segments that showcase Cohen’s range as a performer and satirist.

This two-disc DVD set contains the complete first season with a runtime of two hours and fifty minutes and carries a TV-MA rating from HBO. The mockumentary-style sketches and candid interviews with unsuspecting subjects made the show a hit in Britain before bringing Cohen’s irreverent comedy to American audiences.
