Changes is a folk album of Native American flute music by R. Carlos Nakai, released on Canyon Records. This was Nakai’s first recording, originally issued in a limited cassette edition, and features a blend of traditional songs from the Zuni, Lakota, and Blood tribes alongside original compositions inspired by Nakai’s travels throughout the Southwest. The album showcases the warm, full tone of Nakai’s flute work, with pieces that range from measured and pastoral to energetic and improvisational.

The CD contains fifteen solo tracks including Zuni Song, Whippoorwill, Wioste Olowan Toki Ya, Solstice, and various dated recordings from 1982 such as December Snow and 12/13/82 Song. Nakai’s mastery of folk-based melodies demonstrates the spiritual depth that simple instrumentation can achieve. Add this used copy to your collection at a fraction of the original retail cost.
