CD Details
Canyon Trilogy: Native American Flute Music is a 2003 folk and world music album by R. Carlos Nakai featuring native flute compositions inspired by ancient Anasazi and Sinagua cliff dwellings in the Southwest. Using the Roland SDE 3000 Digital Delay system, Nakai creates improvisations that allow him to play duets with his own echo, capturing the reverberations of these historic sites and the ancestral voices that inhabited them. The recording conveys a deep, melancholy yearning as Nakai’s flute sounds particularly plaintive, as if channeling the spirits of forgotten ancestors through his playing.
This CD was released by Canyon Records and includes tracks such as Song For The Morning Star, Ancestral Home, Echoes Of Time, Inward Journey, Creation Chant, Canyon People, and Turquoise World. Nakai’s free-flowing compositions use digital technology to emulate the sound of cedar flute echoing through canyons and valleys, creating an immersive listening experience that soothes the spirit. Add this deeply felt recording to your collection at a used price.
