Bringing Down the House is a 2003 comedy directed by Adam Shankman and written by Jason Filardi. Steve Martin stars as an uptight tax attorney whose life takes an unexpected turn when he connects with someone online who he believes is a refined blonde lawyer. His assumptions shatter when she arrives at his door as a free-spirited escaped convict, played by Queen Latifah. As she settles into his home, she becomes an unlikely ally in his efforts to reconcile with his ex-wife and rebuild his relationship with his children, all while bringing chaos and humor to his carefully ordered existence.
