Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds star in this 2009 romantic comedy directed by Anne Fletcher. Bullock plays Margaret, a demanding book editor whose career faces collapse when immigration issues threaten to deport her to Canada. To stay in the country, she convinces her assistant Andrew (Reynolds) to enter into a fake engagement, offering him a promotion as incentive. When they travel to Alaska to meet Andrew’s family and convince authorities their relationship is genuine, Margaret and Andrew discover their pretend romance may be becoming all too real. The supporting cast includes Craig T. Nelson, Mary Steenburgen, and Betty White as Andrew’s colorful relatives.
