Bordertown is a Canadian western drama series that premiered in 1989, following the adventures of characters living in a small community that straddles the Canadian-U.S. border. Set in the 1880s, the town of Bordertown emerged when surveyors of the 49th parallel discovered that the settlement of Pemmican now lay directly on the international boundary. Law enforcement on both sides of the border creates constant tension and opportunity for conflict, with Canadian Mountie Clive Bennett and U.S. Marshal Jack Craddock sharing jurisdiction, an office, and romantic feelings for the same woman. Starring John H. Brennan, Richard Comar, and Sophie Barjac, the series explores themes of justice, duty, and personal rivalry across 52 episodes directed by Brad Turner and Rene Bonniere.
