Sidney Lumet directs this 2007 crime thriller about two brothers whose ambitions lead them down a destructive path. Philip Seymour Hoffman plays Andy, a financially desperate broker who convinces his younger brother Hank (Ethan Hawke) to commit what seems like an easy robbery: stealing from a jewelry store in their suburban neighborhood. The twist that unravels everything is that the store belongs to their own parents. When the scheme goes catastrophically wrong, the fallout tears the family apart. Marisa Tomei appears as Andy’s wife, caught in a secret affair with Hank, while Albert Finney portrays their father, determined to hunt down those responsible without realizing the criminals are his own sons.
