Angel is a supernatural drama series that premiered in 1999, created by Joss Whedon alongside David Greenwalt. The show follows Angel, a vampire cursed with a soul, who relocates to Los Angeles and establishes a detective agency dedicated to helping those in supernatural peril. Starring David Boreanaz in the lead role, the series features Charisma Carpenter, Alexis Denisof, Amy Acker, Andy Hallett, and Christian Kane as Angel’s allies in his fight against demonic forces and dark magic. Darker and more noir-influenced than its parent series Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel blends action, mystery, and fantasy storytelling as the protagonist and his companions confront both individual cases and larger threats posed by the sinister law firm Wolfram and Hart.
