Vincente Minnelli directed this 1951 MGM musical romance following an American painter navigating life in post-war Paris. Gene Kelly stars as Jerry Mulligan, a former GI pursuing his artistic dreams while caught between a wealthy patron and a local woman played by Leslie Caron in her film debut. Oscar Levant rounds out the cast as Jerry’s pianist friend, and the film features the music of George and Ira Gershwin throughout, including memorable numbers like “Love Is Here to Stay” and “I Got Rhythm.” The story culminates in an elaborate 17-minute fantasy ballet sequence that has become iconic in cinema history.

This two-disc special edition DVD release runs 114 minutes and carries an Approved rating from MGM. The set includes the complete film along with supplemental content across both discs. Owning this used copy lets you experience a landmark musical at a fraction of the original retail cost.
