A Shot in the Dark is a 1964 British comedy film starring Peter Sellers as the hopelessly inept Inspector Jacques Clouseau. Directed by Blake Edwards and written by Edwards, Harry Kurnitz, and William Peter Blatty, the film follows Clouseau as he investigates a murder case while becoming increasingly smitten with Maria, the beautiful maid accused of the crime. His romantic distraction and spectacular clumsiness create a cascade of comedic chaos that only frustrates his superior, while the body count and suspects continue to mount.

This single-disc DVD release comes from United Artists and is rated for general audiences. A Shot in the Dark marks the second appearance of Sellers’ iconic character and introduces Herbert Lom as Clouseau’s exasperated boss Dreyfus and Burt Kwouk as the mysterious Cato.
