Maurice Sendak’s beloved children’s stories come to life in this animated collection. Where the Wild Things Are follows young Max, who sails away to an island of wild creatures after being sent to bed without supper, eventually becoming their king before longing for home. The Nutshell Kids presents charming poems set to music that explore the alphabet, good manners, numbers, and the months of the year through stories like Alligators All Around, Pierre, One Was Johnny, and Chicken Soup with Rice. In the Night Kitchen features Mickey awakened by mysterious sounds, discovering who is making all the noise in the night kitchen.

This DVD contains all three stories with music and narration by Peter Schickele, running 35 minutes total and rated for family audiences. The disc includes a segment on getting to know Maurice Sendak, a Spanish version of Where the Wild Things Are, interactive menus, and scene selection.
