Harry Connick Jr. released this holiday jazz album in 1993, bringing his New Orleans roots and sophisticated musical sensibility to Christmas standards and original compositions. The pianist and vocalist crafted big band arrangements that evoke the golden age of 1940s jazz while maintaining a distinctly contemporary cool. His original songs sit comfortably alongside reimagined classics, delivered with restrained vocals and lush orchestration that never overwhelms the material. Standout moments include the solo piano introduction to “Ave Maria,” the swinging second-line energy of “(It Must’ve Been Ol’) Santa Claus,” and the gospel-tinged “I Pray on Christmas.”

This CD contains ten tracks with a total runtime of approximately 40 minutes, showcasing Connick’s artistry across holiday favorites like “Sleigh Ride,” “Let It Snow. Let It Snow. Let It Snow.,” and “The Little Drummer Boy” alongside his own seasonal compositions. A hand-inspected copy of this jazz holiday gem awaits you at a fraction of retail.
