Whatever is a 1987 folk-jazz fusion album by cellist and composer Danny Thompson. The eight-track collection weaves together traditional folk sensibilities with jazz improvisation, featuring Thompson’s distinctive cello work across pieces that range from introspective compositions to rhythmic explorations. Standout tracks include the haunting “Lovely Joan,” the Latin-tinged “Yucateca,” and two tribute pieces honoring fellow musicians: “Till Minne Av Jan (For Jan Johansson)” and “Lament For Alex (For Alex Campbell).”

Released on the Hannibal/Carthage label, this CD contains eight tracks with a total runtime of approximately 42 minutes. Acquire this used copy and own a distinctive recording that showcases Thompson’s versatility as both performer and composer.
