Great Expectations

CD Details

Great Expectations is a 1992 electronic rock album by Tasmin Archer, featuring contributions from Charlie Morgan, Danny Thompson, and Elliott Randall. The record blends synth-pop and rock elements across eleven tracks that explore weighty themes including ecology, women’s rights, and class struggle. Archer’s powerful soprano voice carries the album, ranging from intimate verses to soaring choruses, particularly on standout tracks like “Arienne” and “Steel Town.” Working with songwriting partners John Hughes and John Beck, Archer crafts a collection of introspective songs that grapple with serious subject matter throughout.
