Giacomo Puccini’s Tosca is a Romantic-era opera that tells the tragic story of a soprano caught between love and political turmoil in Rome. This recording features tenor Giuseppe Di Stefano and baritone Fernando Corena alongside soprano Leontyne Price, with conductor Herbert von Karajan leading the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and Vienna State Opera Chorus through all three acts of the drama.

Released on Decca in 2006, this two-disc CD set presents the complete opera in stereo, running nearly two hours and including the work’s most celebrated moments: the aria “Recondita Armonia,” the dramatic “E Sempre Lava,” and the passionate “Mario. Mario. Mario.” from Act One, along with the famous “Vissi D’Arte” and “E Lucevan Le Stelle” from later in the score. Add this essential Puccini performance to your collection at a used price that makes owning it easy.
