Two beloved animated holiday stories arrive on one disc. The Snowman (1982) is a wordless British film based on Raymond Briggs’ classic children’s book, following a young boy whose magical snowman comes to life and whisks him away on a wondrous flying adventure across snowy landscapes. Father Christmas (1991) takes a different approach to the holiday season, presenting an unconventional Santa who ditches tradition for a pre-Christmas vacation, sampling destinations like France, Scotland, and Las Vegas before returning to his duties at the North Pole. Both films were directed by Dave Unwin and Dianne Jackson, with voice work from David Bowie, Mel Smith, Peter Auty, and Raymond Briggs.

This DVD contains both animated shorts with a combined runtime of 54 minutes, released by Columbia TriStar and rated unrated. The hand-drawn animation and gentle storytelling make these films ideal for family viewing during the holiday season. You’ll own these charming classics on physical media at a used price.
