Legendary guitarist Andrés Segovia presents a program of Johann Sebastian Bach’s works arranged for solo guitar on this 1987 recording. The album features transcriptions spanning Bach’s lute pieces, violin partitas, and a cello suite, showcasing Segovia’s interpretation of the Baroque master’s compositions. Throughout his career, Segovia championed Bach’s music and brought warmth and humanity to these intricate works, helping establish Bach as one of history’s most versatile composers.

This CD release on the MCA Classics label contains seven tracks, including the famous Chaconne from Violin Partita No. 2 at nearly fourteen minutes.
