The Man Who Knew Too Little [DVD]

Movie / Show Details

Bill Murray stars in this 1997 comedy thriller as an American tourist wandering the streets of London who stumbles into what he believes is an interactive street theater experience called “Theater of Life.” In reality, he has become entangled in a genuine espionage operation involving a femme fatale played by Joanne Whalley and various incompetent villains. Directed by Jon Amiel and written by Howard Franklin and Robert Farrar, the film plays with the confusion that arises when Murray’s character remains oblivious to actual danger, convinced he is simply performing in an elaborate stage production.

This single-disc DVD release runs 94 minutes and carries a PG rating from Warner Bros. Murray delivers comedic performances throughout, particularly during a climactic sequence involving a hidden bomb and a group of dancing Cossacks, mining humor from the film’s central premise of mistaken identity and theatrical misunderstanding.
