The Last Detective - Series 1

Movie / Show Details

The Last Detective is a British crime drama series from 2003 based on Leslie Thomas’s novels about Detective Constable “Dangerous” Davies, played by Peter Davison. Despite his ironic nickname, Davies is an old-fashioned, decent man working at a small London police station where he earns little respect from colleagues or the public. Unlucky in love and accident-prone, he muddles through cases with help from his eccentric friend Mod, portrayed by Sean Hughes. Though his boss considers him the last detective to call for important work, Davies proves that his dogged, unglamorous approach to solving crimes has real merit.

This DVD release from Acorn Media Group contains the complete first series across two discs, running five hours and eleven minutes total. The show blends crime and mystery with character-driven humor as Davies navigates personal struggles and self-doubt while pursuing justice. You can own this series on physical media at a used price that won’t strain your budget.
