Norah Jones released The Fall in 2009, a blues and rock album that marks her continued evolution as an artist. Working with producer Jacquire King, Jones moved further away from her early smooth jazz-influenced sound toward a more modern singer-songwriter approach. The album features all original compositions, many written with collaborators including Jesse Harris, Ryan Adams, and Will Sheff of Okkervil River. Songs like “Chasing Pirates,” “Light As A Feather,” and “Young Blood” showcase an elegantly dreamy quality that balances Jones’ distinctive vocal style with understated arrangements that keep the focus on her voice and melodies.

This is a CD release on Blue Note Records, featuring eleven tracks with a total runtime of approximately forty-one minutes. Recorded across multiple studios including House of David in Nashville, Sunset Sound Recorders in California, and locations in New York during 2008 and 2009, the album was mixed by Jacquire King and photographed by Autumn de Wilde. Own this used copy and experience Jones’ sophisticated take on contemporary songwriting.
