The Descendants (Blu-ray + DVD + Digital Copy)

Movie / Show Details

Alexander Payne directs this 2011 drama-comedy following Matt King, a detached husband and father of two daughters living in Hawaii. When his wife suffers a boating accident off Waikiki and falls into a coma, Matt discovers her infidelity and must confront the man responsible. The crisis forces him to reconnect with his daughters while grappling with a major decision about selling his family’s ancestral land, a property passed down through generations of Hawaiian royalty and missionaries. George Clooney stars alongside Amara Miller, Beau Bridges, and Judy Greer in this sometimes humorous, sometimes heartbreaking examination of family and personal growth.

This Blu-ray edition includes both the Blu-ray and DVD versions plus a digital copy, presented by Fox Searchlight Pictures with a runtime of 95 minutes and rated R. The two-disc set captures Payne’s signature blend of comedy and emotional depth as Matt navigates his transformed life across the Hawaiian islands.
