The Adventures of Champion is a 1955 Western television series produced by Gene Autry’s Flying A Productions. Directed by serial and Western veterans Ford Beebe, George Archainbaud, and John English, the show follows 12-year-old Ricky North, played by Barry Curtis, who lives on his Uncle Sandy’s ranch in the American Southwest. Ricky’s closest companions are Champion, a wild stallion who allows only him to ride bareback, and Rebel, a German shepherd who joins them on their weekly adventures across the frontier. The cast includes familiar cowboy character actors such as Roy Bancroft, Glenn Strange, George J. Lewis, and Francis McDonald.

This DVD release from Film Chest contains all 26 half-hour episodes from the show’s single season, restored and presented across three discs. The series originally aired on CBS from 1955 to 1956 and was based on characters that first appeared in a 1949-1950 radio serial and subsequent Dell comic books.
