Tears of the Sun is a 2003 military action thriller directed by Antoine Fuqua and starring Bruce Willis as Navy SEAL Lieutenant A.K. Waters. When Nigeria descends into civil war, Waters is sent with his elite squad into the jungle to extract Dr. Lena Kendricks, played by Monica Bellucci. Upon finding her, Kendricks refuses to abandon her vulnerable patients to the advancing rebel forces. Waters and his team face an impossible decision: follow their orders or protect the refugees, a choice that puts them at odds with both American command and Nigerian military forces as they attempt a dangerous journey to safety.
