Superman: Last Son of Krypton is a 1996 animated television movie that combines the first three episodes of the classic DC animated series. The film tells the origin story of the Man of Steel, beginning on the doomed planet Krypton where scientist Jor-El sends his infant son Kal-El away in a rocket before the world is destroyed. The child lands on Earth and is raised by Jonathan and Martha Kent as Clark Kent. As Clark grows, his extraordinary powers become apparent, and he decides to use them to help humanity. Moving to Metropolis to work as a reporter, Clark adopts the Superman identity to battle threats including the villainous Lex Luthor and his powerful battle suit.

This single-disc DVD release runs 64 minutes and carries a TV-PG rating. The film features voice work from Tim Daly as Superman, Dana Delany as Lois Lane, Clancy Brown as Jor-El, and Malcolm McDowell as Lex Luthor, with direction by Curt Geda, Dan Riba, and Scott Jeralds.
