Superman II: The Richard Donner Cut is a 2006 re-edited version of the 1978 superhero sequel directed by Richard Donner and Richard Lester. Starring Christopher Reeve as the Man of Steel alongside Gene Hackman, Margot Kidder, and Marlon Brando, this film follows Superman as he grapples with sacrificing his powers for love while three dangerous Kryptonian criminals endanger Earth. Donner originally shot much of the sequel simultaneously with the first film, but producers later brought in Lester to rework it. This official director’s cut restores Donner’s original vision, featuring restored scenes with Brando at the Fortress of Solitude and alternate sequences showing how Lois discovers Clark’s true identity.

This is a single-disc DVD release from Warner Home Video with a runtime of one hour and fifty-five minutes and a PG rating. The restored cut offers fans a chance to experience Donner’s intended version of the story, complete with material that was previously unavailable.
