Speed Racer the Next Generation - The Beginning

Movie / Show Details

Speed Racer: The Next Generation is a 2008 animated series that transports the legendary Speed Racer franchise into a futuristic setting. Rather than following the original Speed Racer himself, this update centers on X Racer, Speed’s son, who attends an elite Racing Academy for the world’s fastest young drivers. When a talented orphan named Speed arrives at the academy with exceptional racing abilities, X’s position at the top is challenged, forcing him to confront mysteries about his absent father. The series brings back iconic elements from the original, including the famous Mach 5 vehicle and Speed’s brother Spritle, voiced by Peter Fernandez, who originally dubbed the classic series.

This single-disc DVD release runs 66 minutes and carries a TV-Y7 rating, making it appropriate for younger audiences.
